Days passed like this for Shriya and Navya, though they often had to deal with unwanted attention from Ranveer and his group.
One sunny afternoon, they were all sitting on a bench in the garden area, enjoying their lunch, when Diya suddenly broke the silence. "You know, guys! Tomorrow is Veer's birthday," she announced with excitement.
Navya smiled politely and said, "Oh, happy birthday in advance, Veer!"
Ranveer chuckled, leaning back with a grin. "Well, thank you, Navya! But just a wish won't cut it. You both have to come tomorrow-I've arranged a party for my close friends. It's going to be great, and I don't want you two missing it."
Navya and Shriya exchanged nervous glances, clearly unsure how to respond. Shriya was the first to speak. "That's really nice of you, but I don't think we'll be able to join. Our parents wouldn't allow us to go to a party, especially one that's this late."
Navya quickly added, trying to sound as sincere as possible, "Yeah, they're pretty strict about these things. We'd love to come, but convincing them would be nearly impossible."
Ranveer raised an eyebrow, not looking convinced. "Come on, you guys. It's just one night. You can figure something out. Don't be so boring!"
Shriya shook her head gently. "It's not about being boring, Ranveer. It's about respecting our parents' rules. They trust us, and we don't want to break that trust. I'm sure you understand."
Navya nodded in agreement, trying to ease the situation. "We really appreciate the invite, though. It means a lot that you included us. We'll definitely wish you tomorrow, even if we can't make it."
Ranveer sighed, clearly disappointed, but shrugged it off. "Fine, fine. I get it. But you two are seriously missing out."
Shriya and Navya exchanged relieved smiles, grateful they had managed to turn him down without offending him. They returned to their lunch, hoping the topic wouldn't come up again.
---------------------------------------------------------
After finishing their classes, Shriya and Navya walked through the corridor together.
"I really hope he believed our excuse. Honestly, I was so nervous when he asked us to join his party," Shriya admitted, her voice still tinged with unease.
Navya nodded, her expression serious. "I know exactly how you feel. We should make an effort to keep our distance from him as much as possible," she said firmly.
Shriya managed a small smile, grateful for Navya's resolve.

Later that evening, at their house...
Navya was sitting in the living room, helping her brother with homework, when the doorbell rang. Jhanvi,Her mother opened the door, and to the Navya' shock, it was Ranveer standing there, a confident smile on his face.
"Good evening, ma'am," he greeted politely, holding a small box of sweets. "I'm Ranveer, Shriya and Navya's friend from their university. I thought I'd drop by to personally invite them to my birthday party tomorrow. It's a small gathering for close friends, and I'd really like for them to join us."
Navya exchanged nervous glances with him as her mother turned toward them, clearly surprised. "Oh, that's very thoughtful of you, Ranveer," Jhanvi said, smiling politely. "But we don't usually allow them to attend parties."
Ranveer smiled disarmingly. "I completely understand, ma'am. It's just that they're such good friends, and it would mean a lot to have them there. It's going to be a simple, well-supervised celebration. I assure you, I'll personally take responsibility for their safety."
Vikram, Her father, who had joined the conversation by now, frowned slightly. "It's not about trust, young man. We have our family rules, and we prefer that our children don't attend late-night gatherings."
Ranveer nodded respectfully. "I understand, sir, and I truly respect your rules. But if you change your mind, please know they're always welcome. Here's the party invitation." He handed over a neatly printed card before turning back to the Navya with a friendly smile. "Hope to see you tomorrow."
Navya stayed silent, unsure of what to say. As soon as Ranveer left, she exchanged a worried look with her parents, dreading how this might complicate things further.
Later that evening, after Ranveer had left their respective houses, Shriya and Navya were on a call, both still processing what had happened.
Navya spoke first, her voice laced with disbelief. "I can't believe he showed up at our house, Shriya. Did he really go to your place too?"
Shriya sighed, running a hand through her hair. "Yeah, he did. It was so awkward. He actually tried to convince my parents to let me come to his party. He even promised he'd be responsible for us. I didn't know what to say."
Navya's voice became more serious. "He did the same thing at my place. Came right to the door, gave this whole speech about how it was a small, safe gathering. Honestly, I thought he was being way too persistent. I feel like he's pushing way too hard."
"I know," Shriya replied, her tone worried. "It's starting to feel weird. I mean, we told him no, but he's still showing up at our houses and trying to convince our parents. What is his deal?"
Navya paused before answering. "That's what I don't get either. It's not just about the party anymore; he's crossing some boundaries. It doesn't sit right with me."
"Same here," Shriya said, her voice firming up. "I think we need to be extra careful. I don't like how determined he is, especially after we made it clear we couldn't go."
Navya agreed. "We definitely need to keep our distance from him. This feels like more than just a simple invitation at this point."
"Exactly," Shriya said, the unease in her voice matching Navya's. "I think we have to be careful with how we handle this. He's not taking no for an answer, and that's just... off."
The conversation lingered in their minds as they went about their evening.

The Next Day...
Shriya and Navya were both shocked when they found out that their parents had changed their minds.
It was late in the afternoon when Priya, Shriya's mother called her into the kitchen. "Shriya, I need to talk to you."
"Yes, Mom?" Shriya asked, her heart racing a little.
Priya smiled kindly. "I spoke with your father, and after thinking it through, we've decided it's okay for you to go to Ranveer's party. He seems like a responsible young man, and if he's made the effort to personally invite you both, then it shows he cares about your friendship."
Shriya was stunned. "Wait, what? Are you sure?"
Her mother nodded. "Yes, but make sure you're back before it gets too late, and no staying out after dark. Understand?"
Shriya's mind raced as she processed the sudden change of heart. "Okay... thank you, Mom!"
---
Meanwhile, Navya had just gotten off the phone with her mother, who had shared the same decision. "Navya, your father and I talked about it, and we're fine with you going to Ranveer's party, but only if you promise to stay in contact and come back by 9 PM."
Navya was in disbelief. "Are you sure, Mom?"
Her mother replied gently, "Yes, but remember to be responsible. This is a chance for you to show that you can handle things maturely."
"Thank you, Mom!" Navya said, trying to suppress her surprise and excitement.
---
Back on the phone, "Thanks a lot for pointing out my mistake. I had uploaded a few chapters a few months ago, but due to some issues, I couldn't continue. Also, I wasn't fully satisfied with the names of two characters."
Shriya and Navya couldn't believe what was happening.
"Navya, you won't believe this," Shriya said, her voice tinged with shock. "My parents just said yes! They actually agreed to let me go to the party."
Navya's response was almost identical. "Wait, what? My parents said yes too! I don't know what changed, but... I guess we're going now."
Both girls paused for a moment, their thoughts swirling. They had no idea what to make of their parents' sudden change of heart, but they both felt a strange mixture of excitement and unease.
"I guess we have to go now," Shriya said, half-joking, half-nervous.
"Yeah, we'll figure it out," Navya replied. "But we still need to be cautious, Shriya. I don't trust Ranveer completely, and now things are even more complicated."
"I agree," Shriya said. "We'll stay together and make sure we're careful. But... let's just see what happens."
They both hung up, each uncertain of what the party would bring, but both felt a bit more prepared for whatever was to come.
In The Evening
Shriya stood in front of her mirror, adjusting her hair one last time. She wore a simple but elegant dress, light blue with delicate floral patterns, paired with white flats. She wasn't usually one for flashy clothes, but today felt different. Her phone buzzed, and she saw a message from Shriya.
Navya: "Are you ready? I'm nervous!"
Shriya smiled and typed back: "Same here! I'll pick you up in 15 minutes."
She grabbed the small, neatly wrapped gift she had bought for Ranveer, a nice leather wallet that seemed practical yet personal. She figured it was a safe choice, something that wasn't too extravagant, but still thoughtful.
---
Meanwhile, Navya was standing in front of her own mirror, nervously fixing her hair. She had chosen a simple maroon dress that reached her ankles, with a matching pair of sandals. She didn't want to look too dressed up, but she also didn't want to seem underdressed.
She took a deep breath and looked down at the small box she had wrapped carefully-a sleek wristwatch she had chosen for Ranveer, something stylish but not too expensive.
Her phone buzzed again, and she smiled when she saw Shriya's message. "On my way! See you soon!"
"Okay, here we go," she muttered to herself, picking up her gift and walking toward the door.
---
In a few minutes, Shriya arrived at Navya's house, and the two girls exchanged a nervous but excited smile. They both looked good, but neither of them could shake the unease in their stomachs.
"You look great!"Shriya said, her voice trying to sound more confident than she felt.
"Thanks, you do too," Navya replied, glancing at the gift in Shriya's hand. "Did you get him something?"
Shriya nodded. "Yeah, just a small gift. I hope it's okay."
Navya smiled. "It's perfect. I got him a watch. Nothing too fancy, but I think he'll like it."
They both stood there for a moment, unsure of what to say next.
"Well, let's get this over with," Shriya said, trying to lighten the mood.
"Yeah, let's go. We'll stick together," Navya agreed, her voice firming up.
With one final look at each other, they headed out the door, both nervous but ready to face what was to come. As they drove to the party, the weight of the evening ahead began to settle on their shoulders, and they silently agreed to stay alert. They had no idea what to expect, but they were going in together, and that was all that mattered.
